Services from Cook Counseling Center are available to all students who have paid their health fee. The center utilizes a short-term, focused treatment model. After the initial evaluation, the clinician will discuss treatment options with the student, which could include short-term referral to a workshop, group counseling, individual therapy, or referral to another university resource. In some cases, (e.g., when long-term therapy is indicated, if the student needs to be seen more intensively than is possible at the center, or when a service is not available through the center), the optimal treatment plan may involve referral to a practitioner in the community. Staff at Cook Counseling Center can help with referral to the appropriate provider.

Clinicians at Cook Counseling Center do not provide letters of support for emotional support animals. Clinicians will provide referral information about individuals in the community who can provide this documentation.
