Arlene Gerardo, MS, MSW
Arlene Gerardo is a doctoral psychology student who is completing her internship at the Cook Counseling Center. She is a Licensed Master Social Worker in the state of Texas. She earned her a B.A. degree in Psychology and a B.S.W. from Valparaiso University in Valparaiso, IN. She earned her M.S.W. from Aurora University in Aurora, IL., and her M.S. degree in Psychology from Carlos Albizu University in Miami, FL. Currently, she is completing her Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from Carlos Albizu University. Professional interests include trauma, crisis intervention, adjustment issues, and anxiety and mood disorders. She enjoys working with individuals from diverse backgrounds through individual, couples, and group therapy. Her theoretical orientation is primarily influenced by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Positive Psychology, but she utilizes a collaborative and integrative approach. Her research focus has been on military psychology, emerging adulthood, and resilience.
