On the average, how many hours per week is it recommended that you study for each hour you spend in class?

There is no right answer to this question; however, it is generally recommended that you spend 2 - 3 hours outside of class for every hour you spend in class. For a 3 hour credit class, you are spending 2 1/2 hours in class every week. This would suggest that you should plan to spend 5 to 7 1/2 hours outside of class studying each week. Obviously, some classes will be more difficult than others and some will be less difficult. Study activities include reading the textbook, doing homework assignments, reviewing notes and studying for tests and quizzes.
