SUPERVISION OF SUPERVISION SEMINAR     2006-2007

FACILITATOR: GARY BENNETT, PH.D.

 

GOAL:

The internship training program will provide interns with the opportunity to develop and refine their supervisory skills.

OBJECTIVES:

The purpose of this seminar is to expose interns to different theories of supervision and assist them in their development as supervisors. While the seminar is focused primarily on discussion of supervision cases and issues, it also involves didactic instruction. The readings listed below are designed to augment the seminar and provide interns with additional information regarding supervision.

ACTIVITIES:

--Interns will meet weekly with the senior staff facilitator as a group to discuss supervision issues.

--Interns will review video recording of their sessions with supervisees during the group meetings.

--By the end of the training year, interns will be expected to articulate their conception of their supervision styles.

--Interns will read assigned articles and be prepared to discuss them during the seminar. Sets of readings will be handed out approximately once per month.
