and come to terms with their family-of- origin.

identified a test anxiety problem. The workshop teaches relaxation skills, methods to
control worry and coping skills for better concentration. Students interested in this
program are required to either attend an introductory Coping With Test Anxiety workshop or
meet with a counselor to insure a test anxiety problem exists.
Graduate Student Group
Graduate programs require commitment from graduate students which
means a lot of time is devoted to academic work for the duration of the program. In
graduate school, coursework is more research oriented, there are more papers to write, and
more creative projects and presentations are required. A much more independent level work
is expected and there is less feedback to students from their professors. Effective time
management is critical to this being a successful educational experience.
The desire to maintain good grades, the requirement to maintain a B
average, and financial pressures put graduate students under a lot of stress. To help
graduate students cope, the Counseling Center offers an ongoing growth group for graduate
students. Members can discuss academic, interpersonal, family and other concerns. Members
can gain self-understanding about their interactions with others within and outside the
group. Interested students need to meet with a counselor to assess if the group is the
best medium for their development.

anger, dating relationships, self-esteem and self-destructive behaviors.
