Consultation and Outreach Services

Educational programs are offered on various mental health topics. Faculty members can request presentations that address the concerns of college students and that complement course content. Programs on student stress, career decision making, eating disorders, and substance abuse are often requested. Cook Counseling Center staff members will also consult with faculty members to develop programs suitable to their instructional needs.

Our programs can be provided throughout the year. However, to assure that your request can be met, it is advisable to contact us at least two weeks before you want the program so we will have ample time to schedule our staff and develop appropriate materials for the program. It may be more difficult for us to honor requests for programs near the end of a semester, since many programs are requested for that time.

In addition, Cook Counseling Center staff members are available to consult with faculty, staff, parents, or students who may be concerned about a student. Assistance in crisis management and guidelines for referral are available. Persons who are concerned about a student are urged to contact Cook Counseling Center for consultation. Requests for programs can be made to any counseling center staff member. If you are interested in a program for your organization, please stop by our office or call. We are located in 240 McComas Hall and our phone number is 231-6557.
