The mission of

The staff of the
Cook
Counseling
Center
provides these learning opportunities through
individual and group psychotherapy, psychiatric
care, and educational programming.
The staff of the
Cook
Counseling
Center
provides support to the Virginia Tech community
through cooperative programming and consultation
in our areas of expertise.
As the provider of mental health services
to the student population, the staff of the

Counseling
Center
is guided by the highest professional and
ethical standards of their professions and is
dedicated to providing quality services.

through the enhancement of student learning and

is committed to the development of our
profession and provides training opportunities
to graduate students, predoctoral interns and
postdoctoral fellows.
Cook Counseling Center and Screening for Mental Health, Inc. offer free and anonymous online screening for depression, alcohol use, eating disorders, and anxiety. The online screenings are informational, not diagnostic, and
treatment recommendations are not provided. Online screening is made available so that Virginia Tech students may find out whether consultation with a Cook Counseling Center counselor may be helpful.
